CASE Meeting Discusses Exam Restructuring

Speaking at the tenth anniversary meeting of Casualty Actuaries of the Southeast (CASE), Donna Munt, FCAS, a member of the CAS Student Liaison Committee, led a lively discussion on the CAS exam restructuring. Ms. Munt addressed an audience composed primarily of students at CASE's meeting in Atlanta on October 1.

Actu-"Aerial" Feats
by James P. Lynch, CAS Candidate Like most actuarial students must do, Dave Moore juggles his study schedule. He also juggles flaming torches.

Every spring, Moore, 25, performs in the Triton Trouper Circus, in River Grove, Illinois. He juggles and performs acrobatics. Twice a week from January to March, four-hour rehearsals take him away from the exam books. Affiliated with Triton Junior College, in River Grove, the circus is held before more than 5,000 people in four shows in late March. Despite the time spent on his unusual pastime, Moore's studying hasn't suffered. He has passed six and one-half exams.
