Here's an excerpt of column by Richard Sandomir that appeared in
yesterday's New York Times about the boring announcing style of two
football TV analysts--Pat Haden (former Rams quarter back) and Mark May
(former member of Redskins offensive line known as the Hogs).
"Haden has regularly defined broadcasting mediocrity, even as TNT's
production has improved from below mediocre to good. And May, a former
Redskin offenseive lineman, has taken obvious steps to strip any
interesting edge from his personality. Is he a Hog or an ACTUARY?"
