On behalf of the CAS Committee on Online Services, I am pleased to
announce a new feature of the CASNET e-mail list - the archive of CASNET
messages.

All messages distributed through CASNET are saved and displayed on a web
page within the CAS Web Site. The CASNET messages can be sorted by
subject, author, or date. We were able to capture all the messages sent
since July 1997, so there are over 250 messages already archived.

The archive of CASNET messages is available at
http://www.casact.org/lists/casnet

On another note, there was an chain letter e-mail sent to the list
yesterday. This fabricated e-mail is known as the "Bill Gates Hoax" and
has been circulating the Internet since Nov 97. List members should
refrain from sending these type of messages to the list.

A list of known e-mail hoaxes maintained by the U.S. Department of
Energy's Computer Incident Advisory Capability (CIAC) is available at:
http://ciac.llnl.gov/ciac/CIACHoaxes.html

*Reminder* Unsubscribe from the list before activating your
auto-response "Out of the Office" message.
