I don't think you can. You have to repeat each shape again as the
subject of a new sentence to get the intended meaning.

PS: Does it make any difference if the problem is spoken instead of written?
That is, does speaking the problem add to the confusion or remove the confusion.
Can you, with spoken inflection make the problem clear?
