Abstract
For a very good general knowledge of disability benefits in connection with the insurance policies the student has but to refer to the excellent papers of Mr. Woodward I and Mr. Morris. 2 No paper devoted to the other popular adjunct of lee insurance coverage generally known as Double Indemnity has been published in the Proceedings, although in a more general study by Mr. Laird," published in May 1921, an important paragraph is devoted to the subject: "Life insurance companies have introduced a provision that in case of death by accidental means before a limiting age, usually 70, the face of the policy will be doubled. This provision was at first attacked even more vigorously than the permanent total Disability benefit as a function of Life insurance but its popularity with the insuring public has swung company after company into line until now a majority of the Life insurance companies grant some form of Double Indemnity in case of death by accidental means."
