Publications
The Actuarial Review is the bi-monthly magazine of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Articles and opinions are copyedited by the AR Working Group and CAS staff. Opinions are reviewed by the a subgroup of the ARWG.
Submitting Your Work
- Submit Your Work to ScholarOne
- Submission Type: Feature articles, columns, letters to the editor, career news, obituaries.
- Word Count: 700-3,000 for feature articles and most department columns; 700 to 1,500 for opinion pieces (ViewPoint department); no more than 250 words for letters to the editor and career news. The CAS reserves the right to edit items for length.

The E-Forum is a nonrefereed, electronic publication of the Casualty Actuarial Society. The CAS is not responsible for statements or opinions expressed in the papers in the E-Forum. These papers have not been peer reviewed by any CAS Committee.

A CAS Monograph is a comprehensive, peer-reviewed work on a single aspect of property casualty actuarial science that is primarily educational in nature. It may be a compendium or original research or both.
They are edited by the CAS Monograph Editorial Board and may be released in the manner of a book or an electronic journal article.

Variance is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Casualty Actuarial Society to disseminate work of interest to casualty actuaries worldwide. The focus of Variance is original practical and theoretical research in casualty actuarial science. Significant survey or similar articles are also considered for publication. Membership in the Casualty Actuarial Society is not a prerequisite for submitting papers to the journal and submissions by non-CAS members is encouraged.

Working Papers reflect ideas or concepts that are still being developed and for which authors invite discussion. As such, Working Papers are considered works in progress. Discussions of Working Papers are encouraged and will be posted on the Web Site along with the papers. With feedback on the papers, authors can modify and prepare papers for submission to publications. Both CAS members and non-members are invited to submit Working Papers.
