2024 Fall E-Forum is Available; Issue Features the Reserves Call Papers
The CAS has released its 2024 Fall E-Forum that contains Reserves Call Papers on the topic of “Technology and the Reserving Actuary.” The CAS Reserves Working Group issued the call for papers in December 2023.
The Fall E-Forum includes the following papers:
- “Navigating the Uncertainties: Robust Reserving Strategies for Catastrophic Events” by Olga Achkasova
- “The Development and Use of A Claim Life Cycle Model” by Christopher G. Gross
- “Handling Sparse Data for Reserving Using Bayesian MCMC” by Michael R. Larsen
- “An Old Dog with New Tricks — Recent Updates to Microsoft Excel for the Working Actuary” by Jonathan Winn
This E-Forum will be amended to include two more Reserves papers that are still in production.
Also included in this E-Forum is an independent research paper by Joel Atkins, FCAS, Ph.D., CPCU.
