Admissions Department Seeking Pre-Tester Volunteers for Spring 2025 Exams

The Admissions Department is currently recruiting Pre-Testers to volunteer for review of Spring Exams.

The following exams are seeking Pre-Testers:

•    Exam MAS-I (Modern Actuarial Statistics I)
•    Exam MAS-II (Modern Actuarial Statistics II)
•    Exam 6C (Regulation and Financial Reporting, Canada)
•    Exam 6U (Regulation and Financial Reporting, US)
•    Exam 7 (Advanced Estimation of Claims Liabilities)
•    Exam 9 (Risk Management for Actuaries)

A Pre-Tester is someone who has passed the exam they are volunteering for within the past 5 years, should have an understanding of all covered topics for the exam, and is an FCAS. There is no pass score requirement to be a pre-tester.  Anyone who passed, whether it was with a score of 6 or 10 can be a pre-tester.

Each exam is looking for 2-3 pre-testers. Hours of commitment typically include asynchronous work (10-15 hours) leading up to a pass-mark panel that is no more than 1.5 days and could be held either in-person or virtually. Pass-mark panels will take place in February.

The role of Pre-Tester is critical to ensure the quality and success of the CAS exams, please consider volunteering for this niche opportunity today!

If you fit the parameters for qualification and would like to become a Pre-Tester, please email admissions-volunteer@casact.org and indicate which exam you’re interested in.
