CAS Fellow Recognized as Rising Insurance Star Executive

Shane Barnes, FCAS, CSPA, was recently named among Rising Insurance Star Executives’ 2020 RISE Award winners. The awards showcase the top rising stars in the insurance industry who show leadership in their organization and community and demonstrate a commitment to advancing the industry.

Barnes currently serves as the P&C claims lead at USAA in San Antonio, Texas. He previously served as the vice president- marketing and communications for the CAS and also served on the Exam Committee, the CAS Brand Task Force and the New Members Committee, where he served as chair. Barnes also served on the board of CANE (Casualty Actuaries of New England). Barnes also worked closely with the CAS and the Society of Actuaries to help form the Joint Committee on Inclusion, Equity and Diversity while serving as vice president.
