October/November 2024 Exam Sitting Final Update
All October/November 2024 CAS exam results have been released, bringing the sitting to a close.
The CAS delivered just over 4,200 exams this sitting, with a grievance submission rate of 1.4%, which is in line with sittings prior to May 2024. Grievances are candidate concerns unrelated to the content of the exam itself, i.e., administration irregularities such as noise or technology issues. Any issues, large or small, that arise during exam sittings are taken seriously by the CAS and the Syllabus and Examination Working Group leaders. We are committed to continuing to work with our exam teams and Pearson VUE on measures to minimize the risks of issues arising during future sittings.
We are also committed to achieving our new Strategic Plan pillar focused on “Enhancing the Candidate Experience.” 2025 will not just see the increase of exam frequency, but other enhancements based on our strengthened partnership between Admissions and the Candidate Advocate Working Group, and the recently conducted Actuarial Professional Analysis. The Admissions Governance Committee is currently working to prioritize potential future enhancements as we launch year one of the new Strategic Plan. 2025 is also a year of transition, as CAS Admissions leadership turns over with a new Vice President – Admissions.
In closing, we congratulate all of the candidates who passed their exams, particularly those who have now achieved their ACAS and FCAS designations! We look forward to celebrating your success in conjunction with the 2025 CAS Spring Meeting in Toronto in May.
