Second Exposure Draft of the U.S. Qualification Standards
The American Academy of Actuaries’ Committee on Qualifications (COQ) has approved the release of a second exposure draft of the Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States (USQS), and comments are invited. This document is intended to replace the Qualification Standards (including Continuing Education Requirements) for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States that took effect Jan. 1, 2008. The comment deadline for the second exposure draft is Aug. 20, 2021.
Please see the announcement on the Academy’s website for more details, including how to submit comments.
CAS members should note that the proposed revised Qualification Standards include changes to continuing education requirements that will impact all actuaries practicing in the United States. All CAS members practicing in the United States are required to meet and follow the Qualification Standards, regardless of whether they are a member of the Academy.
