Temporary VEE Change Announcement

We have become aware that due to the COVID-19 disruption, many universities are offering students the option of choosing a pass/fail score for their spring semester courses. Most of those are offering the option at each students' discretion and have indicated that a passing score would be a C or above.

Due to this development, the Joint CAS/CIA/SOA VEE Administration Committee is temporarily accepting for VEE credit a pass/satisfactory mark or a grade of C or better on transcripts for the Spring and Summer 2020 semesters only. While the standard VEE policy accepts a passing score on a pass/fail course only if the candidate's professor can provide a letter that a B- or better was earned, we will not require that letter for the Spring and Summer 2020 courses.

It is our hope that the temporary lowering of the VEE grade requirement during this time will ease some of the stress candidates may be experiencing. Please direct any questions to vee@soa.org.
