The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS), the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) are excited to invite you to submit proposals for presentations at the upcoming  Crash Course on Vehicle Technology and Automation, scheduled for October 7-8, 2024, in Ruckersville, VA. Speakers are expected to travel in-person to the seminar to present.

We are seeking strong presenters who can speak on the theme of “The Latest Advancements in Passenger & Commercial Vehicles”.

Suggested session topics are listed below:

  • Enhancements in auto insurance products & pricing based on ADAS, EVs, & partial driving automation
  • Impact of new vehicle technology on auto insurance losses
  • Impact of new vehicle technology on driver, passenger, & pedestrian safety
  • The use of automation in the trucking & commercial auto industry

Please complete as many items on the CFP as possible as this helps the planning committee select the best sessions. Please note the committee reserves the right to request changes to your submission as it relates to the overall program.

Requirements:

  • Sessions should be 50 minutes long.
  • Session should identify which areas of the CAS Capability Model are covered within the session.
  • Session presentations should meet the Accessibility for Presentations at CAS Eventsrequirements.
  • Speaker will be asked to submit a speaker bio.
  • Speakers are expected to travel in-person to present.
