Be the Voice of CAS Candidates! – Deadline Extended to October 14
The CAS Candidate Advocate Working Group (CAWG) is looking for candidates taking CAS exams to join the working group. This is a unique opportunity for candidates to get involved and volunteer with the CAS. The selected representatives will get the opportunity to:
- Provide direct feedback to the CAS on issues that impact candidates, such as future educational offerings.
- Communicate with candidates about CAS initiatives.
- Write articles for the Future Fellows newsletter, including interview with CAS President.
- Work with other candidates and CAS members, with the potential to interview CAS members from other working groups and task forces as needed.
- Be called on to provide candidate perspective across the organization.
The CAWG includes Candidate Representatives, Associates, and Fellows of the CAS. Each year, a select number of candidates are accepted to join for a two-year term. If you hold the ACAS or FCAS designation, you can express your interest in volunteering for the CAWG through the Volunteer Interest Survey (VIP Survey). This is your chance to represent CAS candidates and contribute your expertise to the Candidate Advocate Working Group.
We are committed to bringing together a diverse group of representatives to capture the full range of candidate perspectives. Apply now and share your motivations for joining the CAWG—we’re excited to hear from you!
“Volunteering for the CAWG has exceeded my expectations in more ways than I could have imagined. Not only has the CAS been receptive and intentional, genuinely eager to hear my feedback and ideas, but I've also participated in critical changes that shape the future of the CAS. The experience has provided me the opportunity to connect and build relationships with like-minded individuals who are equally dedicated to the actuarial field, and I am grateful for the chance to collaborate, learn, and grow with fellow volunteers. I wholeheartedly recommend volunteering for the CAWG to anyone who shares a passion for making a positive impact.”
- Daniel Drabik, ACAS, CAWG Candidate Representative 2022-2023.
Applications must be submitted by October 14, 2024 to be considered. Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to the CAS and enhance your professional journey!
