Casualty Actuarial Society Names Victor R. Carter-Bey as New Chief Executive Officer

Arlington, Va. – October 18, 2019 – The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) today announced that its Board of Directors has confirmed the recommendation of its Search Committee, led by CAS President Jim Christie, to appoint Victor R. Carter-Bey, D.M., M.B.A., as the new CAS chief executive officer.

Carter-Bey is an accomplished senior executive with deep experience in credential development and commercialization, workforce value enhancement and member engagement. He was most recently director of certification at the Project Management Institute (PMI), where he oversaw the development and implementation of product growth and workforce development strategies to enhance member value and engagement for over 1,000,000 global professionals in the project management profession.

Prior to this role, Carter-Bey served as a director at Prometric, Inc., where he led a team of sales and client services professionals who delivered credentialing and channel enablement services to various corporate and non-profit licensure and credentialing clients. Other previous roles include positions in corporate finance, financial services, legal and education.

Carter-Bey has a Doctor of Management from University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Maryland and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business in New York City. He also holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Carter-Bey will join the CAS Office on October 28 and work with current CAS Executive Director Cynthia Ziegler until her departure on December 31. He will be formally introduced to the CAS membership during the CAS Annual Meeting's business session in Honolulu on November 11.
