The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) will join over 650 of the best and brightest insurance, risk management, and actuarial science students at the Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) 48th Annual International Conference from September 26-28, 2019 in Dallas, TX. Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), the insurance industry’s premier collegiate talent pipeline, will host three days of intensive programming, including the largest career fair of its kind, hundreds of on-site interviews, inspiring keynote addresses, Dive In and GammaSAID diversity & inclusion sessions, annual awards, and more. As a Sustaining Partner of GIS and a Platinum Conference Sponsor, the CAS will have an active presence at the conference, presenting an educational session, meeting with university faculty, and joining an industry roundtable.

Educational session led by the CAS:

  • Risk in the Driver’s Seat: Navigating the World of Automated Vehicles: This session will dive into the risk surrounding automated vehicles, providing insight into the complex intersection between semi and fully automated vehicle technology and insurance.

In addition, the CAS will:

  • Give a presentation to university faculty at the Faculty Roundtable.
  • Join a gathering of insurance industry trade and professional organization representatives at the Association Roundtable.

This year’s conference includes several industry-leading features:

  • For the fourth year, the GIS Conference will host the global Dive In Festival a fully immersive and impact-oriented movement throughout the insurance industry encouraging meaningful understanding and fostering inclusive workplace cultures. In addition to interactive sessions presented by the student-led GammaSAID Council (Solutions for Authenticity, Inclusion, and Diversity), the conference will feature a Diversity/ERG Fair and an inspiring Inclusion Reception.
  • GIS will host the fourth annual Recruiters Roundtable, assembling recruiters from global and local companies throughout North America to share and improve best practices; review summary results of the expansive Annual GIS Student Recruiting Survey, delving into the student perspective on the recruiting process; and gain expert insights from Dr. Leroy Nunery, Founder and Principal of management consulting firm Plu?sUltre?.
  • In partnership with the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), students will have the opportunity to serve the local Dallas community through a service project planned in conjunction with the conference.
  • In partnership with Insurance Nerds, GIS will host the second annual Insurance Nerds Day on Saturday of the Annual Conference.
