Shape the Future of CAS Exams: Become a 2025 CAS Exam Item Writer
The Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) is seeking 25-30 additional dedicated volunteers to contribute to the development of our credentialing exams, which is a key component of our 2025 Strategic Plan.
Why Volunteer?

- Enhancing the Candidate Experience: Your contributions will help ensure our credentialing process remains rigorous yet relevant for future candidates.
- Building Skills for the Future: Engaging in the exam development process allows you to stay abreast of emerging topics and methodologies, thereby reinforcing your own expertise and supporting your continuous professional development.
Exams Seeking Item Writers:
- Exam MAS-I (Modern Actuarial Statistics I)
- Exam MAS-II (Modern Actuarial Statistics II)
- Exam 6C (Regulation and Financial Reporting Canada)
- Exam 6I (Regulation and Financial Reporting International)
- Exam 6U (Regulation and Financial Reporting US)
- Exam 7 (Advanced Estimation of Claims Liabilities)
Volunteer Criteria:
- FCAS designation required.
- ACAS designees may contribute to Exams MAS-I, MAS-II, or any Exam 6 but are restricted from sitting for the written exam for three years thereafter.
Writing Summit Information:
- Dates: April 13-15, 2025
- Venue: Marriott, New Orleans, LA
- Comprehensive training will precede the summit.
