Management Data and Information PrizeThis award is made to the authors of the best papers submitted in response to a call for data management/data quality discussion papers whenever the program is conducted by the Committee on Management Data and Information of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Dynamic Financial Analysis Prize
This award is made to the authors of the best papers submitted in response to a call for dynamic financial analysis discussion papers whenever the program is conducted by the Casualty Actuarial Society. Papers are judged by a specially appointed review committee on the basis of quality of the overall content of the paper as an advancement to the published literature on dynamic financial analysis as well as other factors. If no paper is considered eligible in a given year, the award shall not be made. The committee's decision will be final.

With recent CAS membership surveys demonstrating growing support for voting rights for CAS Associates, the CAS Board of Directors approved putting the issue to a formal vote of the Fellows. The 2020 CAS elections ballot includes a proposal to amend the CAS Constitution and Bylaws to allow Associates who have been members for at least five years to vote in CAS elections for president-elect and board of directors.Listen to a short message about the issue from the Chair of the CAS Board of Directors, Jim Christie.

CAS Committees
The key to the success of the CAS lies in the effective utilization of all of its resources - officers and directors, committees and task forces, and staff. The work done by committees, all on a volunteer basis, is the lifeblood that constitutes the core of the Society's professional actuarial commitment to fulfilling its purposes. All references in this manual to committees apply to task forces and working parties as well.
The purpose of the seminar is to provide the participant with an overview of the various sources of data that can be used to supplement the insurance company's internal data or the client's own data to enhance analyses and will cover several important considerations around the use of external data.
PRESIDENT'S AWARD
The President's Award is given to members of the profession who have, in the opinion of the President, made a particular and special contribution to the Casualty Actuarial Society during the President's term. There is no limit to the number of awards that may be given by each President and in some years there may be none.

WHAT: Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) Ratemaking, Product and Modeling (RPM) Seminar & Live Stream Sessions
This prize, established in 1997, is made to the author of a paper published by the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) that provides the most valuable contribution to casualty actuarial science.
Papers eligible for the prize include articles, workshop articles, and invited papers published in the Journal of Risk and Insurance during the preceding year. Papers published in new ARIA journals may also be eligible for this award. If no paper is considered eligible in a given year, the award shall not be made.
This award is made to the author(s) of the best paper(s) nominated for the prize as determined by the CAS Reinsurance Research Committee.

The CAS has made it easier for actuarial employers to sign up their actuarial employees for CAS webinars and at substantial savings for those companies with a large number of actuaries spread across multiple locations.
The CAS is offering a yearly subscription for multiple webinar connections starting in FY 2021 (October 1, 2020 – September 30, 2021). A minimum of 24 webinars will be offered during the fiscal year for a one-time cost of $9,600. Any additional webinars offered during the year will be included in that cost.
The mission of this section is to advance the actuarial profession by assisting members of the section with the education, research, networking and other special needs that arise in the risk management section of actuarial science.
