Enhancing Board Transparency: Announcing a Refresh of the CAS Board of Directors Webpage

The CAS is pleased to announce a refresh of the CAS Board of Directors webpage, based on recommendations from the Membership Linkage Task Force (MLTF). These updates reflect our commitment to fostering open communication, meaningful collaboration, and stronger engagement between the Board and the broader CAS membership.

The MLTF, a task force of the CAS Board, was established to strengthen the connection between the Board and CAS members. Its mission is to ensure that the Board’s strategic decisions and actions are aligned with member interests by promoting transparency and two-way communication. These changes have been shaped by a range of member input, including insights from the CAS Quinquennial Survey, which highlighted a desire for improved access to Board-related information and more opportunities for engagement.

Introducing the New Board Information Portal

As part of this refresh, the CAS Board webpage has been transformed into a dynamic Board Information Portal that puts member needs and interests front and center. One of the key goals of this revised portal is to make it easier for members to find relevant and important information about the CAS.

Key features of the new portal include:

  • A Focus on Information That Matters to You: The new page is richer in content and centers on the latest updates, insights, and resources members need to stay informed and engaged with the Board’s work.
  • Direct Feedback Mechanism: Members can now submit questions or feedback to the Board through a streamlined system. A new feature also allows commonly asked questions and Board responses to be shared publicly, promoting transparency.
  • Spotlight on Current Topics: The portal highlights recent and ongoing Board discussions, including items open for member exposure and input.
  • Quick Access to Key Documents: Easily find important materials such as the CAS Annual Report, Board meeting minutes, and agendas.
  • Governance 101: Learn how CAS governance works, from the nomination and election process to the roles of Vice Presidents, staff, and the Board’s organizational structure.
  • New Governance Manual: Get an overview of the principles, policies, and structures that guide the CAS. You’ll find key documents and resources outlining our governance approach.

These enhancements are part of a broader effort to ensure CAS members feel informed, heard, and involved in the strategic direction of the organization.

We encourage you to explore the new Board Information Portal and take advantage of these new features. Feedback is welcome as we continue enhancing the portal to best meet the evolving needs of our membership. Contact us at office@casact.org.
