Arlington, VA -- Research reports designed to guide the insurance industry toward proactive, quantitative solutions to identify, measure and address potential racial bias in insurance pricing were published by the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) today.
This seminar will be held virtually in 2022.
Dear CAS Community,
The events of the past year have reignited calls for scrutiny on systems of racial bias and their impacts, including across various insurance industry processes and practices. The topics of disparate impact and fair and unfair discrimination are now being broadly discussed among regulators, consumer advocates, and insurers. This has encouraged CAS members and leaders to further consider what role actuaries can and should play in addressing these important issues.
We are excited to share an update on the Actuarial Professional Analysis (APA) initiative, an effort to ensure that the CAS credentialing pathway and professional education offerings continue to empower and prepare our members for excellence in the actuarial field. Your voice and input have been integral to this process, and we want to keep you informed about the progress we’ve made and what lies ahead.
