The CAS expects to release results for the Spring 2021 exams 5-9 the week of July 5.
Results will be released between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Candidates will be notified via email when their results are available. Candidates will access their exam grade for the Spring 2021 sitting in the “My Exams” section of their online CAS profile. For candidates that did not pass, a more comprehensive grade report will be available.
The CAS is seeking volunteer mentors to participate in our 2nd annual Student Central Summer Program, an eight-week interactive professional and educational experience for university students spanning June 14 thru August 6. This free online program, designed by practicing actuaries, will support students’ career growth by providing technical and soft skill development through a series of weekly modules. The CAS Statements of Principles were originally published in 1988 to provide a conceptual foundation for common actuarial applications, prior to the development of Actuarial Standards of Practice by the Actuarial Standards Board. While they were not intended to provide practice guidance, the Principles contained several instances of standards-type concepts and language.
The Modern Actuarial Statistics exam committees are in need of volunteers!
Each committee will meet twice a year (late April/early May and late October/early November) to review questions, compile the next exam and conduct the pass mark panel. The meetings are generally 2½ days. Travel is not required at this time; no decision has been made regarding travel in the future.
Each committee member is expected to write about 6-8 multiple choice questions for each meeting and to review the questions written by others. No grading is required.

The purpose of the “Exams IRL (in real life)” series is to share how content from CAS exams are used in the workplace today. If you are like me, when you packed up to leave work on March 13, 2020, you definitely thought you’d be back in the office in a few weeks — maybe a month or two, tops. Or in my specific case with a baby due in early April, I thought surely by the time I returned from maternity leave in late June that we’d all be in the regular office space again.
